This beautiful handcrafted silver necklace has been carefully handcrafted by silver smith Nicole McCarron in her Paisley workshop. The silver has been gently hammered to give a stunning textured effect, accentuating the hand stamped “Alba” (The gaelic name for Scotland). The Silver bar is on a 16″ silver chain.
A stunning piece of jewellery to show off proudly your Scottish roots.
About The Artist
I take my inspiration from growing up in the countryside around Scotland, particularly the relationship between power pylons and trees as they compete for head space in the landscape. Each piece is created using a process called lost wax casting this means no two pieces are identical. The process involves creating a material from wax and casting it into Sterling silver. Then working the silver into a comfortable everyday piece of jewellery. I use an element of copper in some of my pieces as it is commonly used as a conductor and naturally pattenation appears over time with exposure to the elements – this makes me feel like nature is fighting back against the metal and that expresses my inspiration perfectly.
