The Pirate and Bluebelle are delighted to present our 2020 Calendar.
“This is the best calendar in the world ever”
West Coast Scenery
Featuring images of stunning West Coast scenery captured around the Inverclyde and in particular, the Gourock area. This A3 sized calendar represents a year in the photographic life of the Pirate and Bluebelle.
Many favourite spots are featured including Cloch Lighthouse, The View from Lyle Hill, Cardwell Bay and Battery Park. Most images are captured at either dawn or dusk giving them an atmospheric and artistic feel. With many images of our stunning coastline and the River Clyde, it is the perfect gift for all lovers of the Inverclyde area!
As in previous years, we have ensured that the calendar has the ever popular ‘big boxes you can write in’!
We are incredibly proud of this years calendar and hope that you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Meet The Artist
We are Nick and Heather aka the Pirate and Bluebelle.
We were both in the same class in school, although we weren’t friends back then. Nick being one of those boys your parents told you about and the teachers said would amount to nothing (i.e. quite cool) whilst Heather was a bit of a teachers pet with huge glasses and a terrible perm (ie not cool).
Fast forward 25 years and we met again via social media and a pretty awful school reunion and we recognised that time had made Nick a little less cool and Heather a little more cool meaning we were on more even ground.
We both loved taking photos and started sharing and critiquing each others images over copious amounts of coffee, this is where the idea of the Pirate and Bluebelle was born.
We love to capture images of the scenic landscapes of our local area and beyond, creating atmospheric images of the beauty that surrounds us. Many of our images are caught early morning and evening giving them a peaceful and ethereal feel which has become our signature look.
Away from landscapes Nick enjoys street photography and dabbling in film photography. Heather loves to capture beauty within urban and derelict environments. And we both like the odd P and B selfie
Oh, and we know we haven’t explained the name, that’s a story for another time…….
